The temperature has cooled down. It’s a great time to spend a day or two outdoor.
We are going to Colorado Bend State Park to hike. Some of us will stay there on Saturday night to camp too.
Here is the plan:
- leave Austin at 9am, Saturday
- arrive at the state park around noon (should take about 2.5 hours to get there)
- hike at one of the trails (probably the one by the river)
- find a good spot to stop for picnic
- return to trail head at 4pm
- those interested in hiking-only will leave
- those interested in camping will head to the camp site (about 1 mile walk)
- set up the tent, relax, and enjoy the beautiful sky at night!!
Things to bring:
Hikers:
- water
- lunch (sandwich, or anything you want to enjoy at outdoor)
Campers:
- All of above, plus:
- 1 gallon of water,
- sleeping bag,
- food for dinner (we will have a stove for simple cooking)
- we will bring the tent.
